Former ℃-ute member Yajima Maimi has announced that she is pregnant with her first child. 

Yajima married actor Mikata Ryosuke in November of 2022. Through her Instagram account, she expressed, "I am spending each day quietly while enjoying the remainder of my pregnancy, where I can be one with my baby, and looking forward to the day we can safely meet our child."

Yajima was the leader of ℃-ute, a Hello! Project pop group that formed in June of 2005. She graduated from Hello! Project after the group disbanded in June of 2017.
